I take the pieces and put them in place

Doing battle in the night, with no trace

To do battle with kings, queens and pawns

A game evergreen that shines like a dawn

High in the sky I'll find my own fate

Moving the pieces as if chess is a trait

All of the stalemates and checkmates, they wait

A fun forevermore, my chessing is great

Whilst the nights continue to come and to go

I'll stay here to keep searching for that perfect flow

That'll make me win and be crowned a hero

Solving puzzles with the pieces is what I want to do
