Lighthouse in the Heartache

The fog has come and taken all of my warmth,
Covering my city like a blanket of grey and calm.
My heartache is buried deep in the shadows so strong,
As the winding lights of the lighthouse stand strong.

The stars spark in silent night as I stand befuddled and panicked,
The lighthouse gives me comfort but I want more.
I just want a refuge from loneliness,
As I am encircled by this cityscape of gray.

What is left for me if the fear of the fog grows?
What I cannot see in this pursuit, the hope of the lighthouse knows.
