Rising with the morn’s first beam,
Our spirits are exalted high,
Where waves of picnic delights
Reflect in the Summer sky.

The nightingale adorns the mead,
The wild rose beds of sweet perfume,
Fraught with joy our hearts do swell
For good fellowship in bloom.

And with dancing we do twirl
Our cares just disappear,
Hand in hand, our hearts awhirl
In Summer’s precious cheer.
