As we trot along the meadow green,

Through the woods, beside yon babbling stream,

We still endure the midday heat,

But for our horses, 'tis a treat!



As the sun shines in the sky so blue,

We can hear their neighing, through and through,

Softly, slowly, ever slow,

Our steeds drink at the river below.



Tally-ho and quench our thirst,

Our saddlebags won't feel the worst,

Let them fill their bellies now,

To carry us as onward we plough.
