So close, yet completely out of reach,
An oasis stands in front of me,
A place of refreshing rest and ease,
Like a dream, so perfect and so serene.

In a barren waste of endless sand,
An oasis stands beautifully tanned,
A vision only I can comprehend,
A mirage to give me refuge or dismay.

In the scorching heat of summer's sun,
The oasis stands like a battle won,
Beauty and serenity abound,
But only briefly, in this open ground.
