I gaze to marvel at your ancient might,

This structure of grace, with no end in sight.

You stand steady, la Cathédrale of light,

Your stones even older than kings of old,

Ah, you remain a beacon so bold,

Though France's history can be so cold.

This monument stands as reminder: all strife will pass,

But art will remain, and your story last.
