As I drew her portrait of a cat,
My brush felt petals at her back,
A curious feline drew my glance,
I thought I'd give her a chance.

I took the cards of me and her,
Created a deck, a purrfect spur,
My lady's gaze soon made a scene,
As I played my favorite jest.

So share with me, lover and friend,
This joyous tale that never shall end,
For when I look upon that card,
I'm reminded of Puss and her ardor.
