City life, bright lights shining and people to greet
Breaking our backs from nine-to-five, ain't life a treat?
If only there was something more, something we could trust
Cause this city, she ain't got no faith--she's gone bust

City life, backstabbin' and connivin' cheating
Dirty money, dirty streets, soiled clothes and cheatin'
If an honest buck is ever found, it's a blessing in disguise
Maybe some day we can take a break, and it won't be so unwise
