Once more the evening air breathes sweet along the bay,

Once more we see the Golden Gate go gleaming on its way;

Wearing its sable veil of night, the city's lights come streaming

Into its hallowed circle, pure and grand and ever-dreaming. Two towers aglow, their glory never feeling the chill,

Awaiting in their silent peace those who pass by its will;

A welcome to the stranger and the one that bids adieu,

The Golden Gate forever stands, a proud, majestic view.
